C+VG's Hot Gossip section

Did you ever wonder where magazines like Computer + Video Games sourced their previews from? It turns out they probably used the same channels as a lot of people did back then!

The 'Hot Gossip' section in the February 1988 issue of Computer + Video Games contains a rant and rave about the game Dark Castle. Further down the page are a couple of screenshots. The picture on the right hand side shows the title screen, and at the bottom you can clearly read "Cracked by LORD BLITTER for BAMIGA SECTOR ONE".

It is interesting that magazines think it is ok to use pirated software for their own benefit while at the same time telling readers how naughty they are for doing exactly the same thing!
