Anthony Ball and Ed Bamber published an article in Amiga Format issue 44 showing how to create an Amiga/Sega joypad adapter.

Along with some Devpac source, it allowed budding hardware hackers to use 3 fire buttons and a start button. It did this by switching pins 5 and 7 around, as these are the different pins that used +5V on each machine.
